The Trump cabal of religious extremists, privatization advocates and racists, as described by Jeremy Scahill, suppresses the science that doesn't fit its agenda, "and that should terrify you," reports Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Michael Hiltzik. "Nearly every day brings a new report of a federal agency told to shut down communications with the public or even members of Congress; tweets about important topics such as climate change removed from the public record; bans on talking to the press."
On Tues. Jan. 10th, RefuseFascism.org protesters disrupted racist Senator Sessions confirmation hearing and were removed in handcuffs. They were dragged out chanting, "No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA” and "We refuse to accept a fascist America. We have to be in the streets starting January 14 to stop the Trump/Pence fascist regime from coming to power."
A letter to Congress, signed by professors from 170 law schools in 48 states, urges the Senate to reject nomination of Senator Jeff Sessions for attorney general reports Washington Post writer Sari Horwitz. The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to hold confirmation hearings for Sessions on January 10-11.

President Obama has failed in his pledge of eight years ago to close the US detention camp at Guantanamo. Congressional obstacles, media lies, and the president’s own lack of will are all responsible for this policy disaster. Guantanamo remains a living symbol of US torture and human rights abuses and a place of misery for the 59 men it still houses. Most of them have never been charged with, let alone tried for, any crime.
"Rightist governments in Hungary and Poland are already cheering Trump's anti-Muslim rhetoric" warns Washington Post editor Jackson Diehl; "the more moderate of the two leading candidates to become France's next president, François Fillon, authored a book titled Conquering Islamic Totalitarianism. Even Germany's Angela Merkel, the most prominent remaining defender of liberal democratic values, felt obliged to strike an anti-Islamic pose last week, proposing a crackdown on the minuscule number of German women who wear a burqa."'

They are all members of the ruling class and led or hope to lead this empire. That doesn't make them inherently fascist. Even while Obama said the "They are on the same team," it doesn't mean that they play the same way. "Fascism is the exercise of blatant dictatorship by the bourgeois (capitalist-imperialist) class, ruling through reliance on open terror and violence, trampling on what are supposed to be civil and legal rights, wielding the power of the state and mobilizing organized groups of fanatical thugs to commit atrocities against masses of people, particularly groups of people identified as 'enemies,' 'undesirables,' or 'dangers to society.'"
