Vision for Feb. 4:
This weekend on February 4th, after Bush gives his State of the Union speech we declare a State of Emergency.
On
February 4th we will be showing up at the doorsteps of the White House,
with one and only demand for the Regime: Bush and cronies step
down and take their program with them! The whole event will be
infused with this message because the world can't wait any longer!
A
range of voices creatively, passionately with determined and unified
strength will join together in DC to declare that this regime is
criminally indictable, immoral and illegitimate. From Iraq
to Guantanamo, this regime has continuously violated humanity. On
February 4th, tens of thousands of people will not just be listening to
words. They will be part of a visually and politically
powerful indictment delivered en mass at the home base of the regime.
Represented
individuals who are defectors from the regime, office holders,
sufferers under the regime, artists, and voices of conscience will
stand with masses of people from different walks of life to announce to
George Bush and his whole gang that it is time for them to go.
Visually, verbally, musically this program will represent the anger of
the people at all the horrors that this regime has brought and promises
to bring to us. The DJ will set the mood and evoke through the
presentation a soundtrack to the indictment.
Religious figures
will come to stand in resistance with the masses to declare that they
will not allow this regime to take us into the dungeons of theocracy
and fascism. Thousands of women and all voices from the women's rights
movement will stand firm to resist the moves to control women's bodies
and say no to bringing back back-ally abortions. Doctors
will stand firm in their support for women's choice. The visual
image of 100-person orange jumpsuit contingent in DC will bring out the
horrors of this torturous regime in the open.
Filled with
creative defiance, we will march and surround the white house at the
end. This undeterred voice of tens of thousands of people will
demand that Bush Step down and vow that we won't stop until he does.
