Section Translated From La Opinion Newspaper, Los Angeles, Wednesday, July 12, 2006:

Protests
When Rove was making reference that he comes from an immigrant family (Norway), an asian woman stood up at one of the tables where conference attendants were seated with a poster from an anti-war organization "World Can't Wait" to shout at the speaker that the Bush Regime must disappear.

Event security guards took the woman and bit by bit made their way to an exit door all the while she kept shouting slogans against the militarization of the border and the Iraq war.

The woman stated her name was Lucy Lee and she considers that President Bush is the one who illegally crosses borders with his wars.

Minutes later, while Rove pretended to ignore the shouts of protest, four women activists of the antiwar organization Code Pink stood up at another table and unfurled a banner that read: "Disarm, Mothers say No to War."

One of them, Tiffany Burn, commented that Karl Rove is responsible for the lies that have been told to people in the United States and around the world to continue the war in Iraq.

"I think it is repugnant to be here talking about immigration reform when they are the ones responsible not only for recruiting latinos to send them off to war and to try to win their votes and at the same time they worry about the people that are coming into the United States." the protestor commented.
