"That which you do not resist and mobilize to stop you will learn – or be forced – to accept.”
To the Anti-War Movement in the United States:
Barack Obama is sending a surge of 20,000 troops to Afghanistan.
An antiwar movement that does not move immediately to oppose the Obama doctrine of shifting the central front of the war on terror to Afghanistan, no longer deserves to be called an anti-war movement.read more...
The World Can’t Wait organizes people living in the United States to repudiate and stop the fascist direction initiated by the Bush Regime, including: the murderous, unjust and illegitimate occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan; the global “war of terror” of torture, rendition and spying; and the culture of bigotry, intolerance and greed. This direction cannot and will not be reversed by leaders who tell us to seek common ground with fascists, religious fanatics, and empire. It can only be possible by the people building a community of resistance - an independent mass movement of people - acting in the interests of humanity to stop, and demand prosecution, of these crimes.
If you live in the United States, this is now the question you are faced with. It has just been revealed that the torture photographs Barack Obama is hiding include those showing U.S. military personnel raping male and female prisoners at Abu Ghraib.
The Daily Telegraph reports: “At least one picture shows an American soldier apparently raping a female prisoner while another is said to show a male translator raping a male detainee. Further photographs are said to depict sexual assaults on prisoners with objects including a truncheon, wire and a phosphorescent tube.”
Retired U.S. General Antonio Taguba, who oversaw the Abu Ghraib investigation, plainly acknowledged: “These pictures show torture, abuse, rape and every indecency.”
I received a letter this morning from a visitor who hails from far beyond our planet. Naturally, I wanted to share it with you

Greetings Earthlings,
I am a visitor from planet Conscience. I have raced at warp speed through galaxies of nihilism, paralysis, and moral ambiguity to reach you. It has been a turbulent journey, to say the least, and I am quite nauseous. However, the stakes are high, and I must deliver an urgent message: FOR THE LOVE OF THE COSMOS, EARTHLINGS, PLEASE….WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!”
These are a few words to describe the way tens of millions of Americans felt on November 3, 2004.
Beneath all of those words was a basic question: How?How?!Throughout the United States and the world, that question kept echoing as an angry, desperate, demoralized scream. How, after Bush stole the 2000 election in broad daylight" after it had long been blatantly obvious there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq" after the Patriot Act " after Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 became the highest-grossing documentary of all time"and only months after the release of the Abu Ghraib torture photos, which shocked the conscience of people throughout the globe"
